HISTORY OF OUR PRACTICE
This practice was founded by Dr Renwick shortly after the First World War when the surgery was located in Bournbrook Road. He was succeeded by Dr Bence who was then joined by Dr Hickman in 1963.
As the surgery premises were no longer available when Dr Bence retired in 1968, the practice moved to Pershore Road when Dr Ireland and Dr Platt entered into a partnership. After several attempts to acquire more spacious surroundings, the practice was able to transfer to the present purpose-built surgery in December 1992.
Dr Hickman retired in 1995 and Dr Davis joined the practice. Dr Rummens joined in June 2000 and Dr Atkinson joined in May 2002. Dr Platt retired in September 2004. Dr Ireland retired as a partner in September 2005 and Dr Haq joined the practice in October 2005. In 2018 Dr Rummens sadly left the practice due to relocating and we welcomed Dr Coverdale as a partner in 2020.
We view health care as a partnership between patients, their carers and all of our practice staff.
This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative.

We are also a Safe Surgery which means if you don’t have proof of
ID or address, you can still register. Immigration status or nationality don’t matter -
reception won’t ask for immigration documents and won’t share your information
with the Home Office unless serious crime is involved.
